The quality of the fat of the acorn-fed Iberian ham is excellent, its composition is predominantly oleic acid (with levels above 50%), which is characteristic of olive oil. This facilitates the production of HDL (“good cholesterol”) in the body, while reducing LDL (“bad cholesterol”). This is due to the high rate of acorn that the animal eats during the “montanera” before its slaughter.

Eating ham provides us with vitamin B, especially B1 and B2. Just 100 grams of ham provide 24% of the recommended daily intake of this vitamin. Its level of protein is 50% higher than that of fresh meat. The artisanal curing process is completely natural, so the ham is free of any product other than the pork itself.

And the best thing about it is that it will not make you fat! It is low in calories, it has less fat than chicken and less salt than york ham. It is a product recommended for hypocaloric diets, since 50 grams of acorn-fed Iberian ham only has 150 kilocalories.

It contains high levels of iron, magnesium, zinc and calcium, but above all phosphorus, providing 30% of the recommended daily intake.
